Sean is a chartered mechanical engineer with extensive renewable energy consultancy capability across the wind, wave, tidal, solar and biomass technology sectors. His experience is backed up by an MSc with distinction in renewable energy systems technology.
His professional experience to date includes design, manufacturing and construction supervision, commissioning, project management, contract negotiations and business development activities. Sean has additional experience in the coastal and inland flooding prevention, waterways navigation and water treatment sectors
He leads BVG Associates ocean energy delivery and acts as a project manager and technical lead in a range of offshore wind, wave and tidal projects. He also leads supports development of internal bid strategy and prospect management. In the last two years he has delivered offshore renewable energy presentations in RenewableUK events, The Crown Estate Supply chain events and conferences run by MAREN, Welsh Assembly Government and the North West Development Agency.
Recent projects that he has managed and delivered include ‘Marine energy in the UK’ for RenewableUK, Scottish Enterprise’s offshore wind expert framework and development of an offshore wind supply chain database, business strategy support for cable manufacturing and 'Winning business in offshore wind' study for Envirolink. He has provided technical input to Cost Reduction Pathways Project for The Crown Estate, delivered supply chain development workshops for Creative Sheffield and completed a technical market study for rotor blade manufacturing.
