Ian Fletcher has worked exclusively in the wind energy field since 1991.  Having worked within Government managing R&D programmes and as a consultant at AEA Technology, he went on to form his own company, Wind Business Support in 2002, which provides support to the UK and International wind business community, providing services to some of the largest renewables companies in the UK such as RWEnpower, Scottish Power Renewables and Renewable Energy Systems, as well enabling bodies such as Renewable UK and the UK Government’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). The work has focused on technology review and commercialisation, supporting industry research and development programmes, site prospecting and evaluation, autonomous wind/diesel power systems and acting as project technical advisor and owners engineer.

For BVG Associates, Ian’s work has drawn his contacts within the Chinese market and his experience of radar mitigation issues. He has worked on DECC projects to identify test sites and develop an industrialization strategy.
