David has an MEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering and 8 years of experience in the renewables and Aerospace sectors including onshore and offshore wind resource assessment and turbine design.
He led the wind resource assessment and layout optimisation tasks for Galloper offshore wind farm (504MW), was responsible for final array layout and energy prediction for Tromp Binnen wind farm (300MW) following extensive optimisation work and advised on technical aspects and energy prediction areas for a number of projects in due diligence processes
David has also worked on projects including the concept design of variable diameter rotor turbine, proof of concept and large scale production evaluation of multi-bladed turbine, parking strategy analysis and modification of problematic prototype turbine, and the creation of damage equivalent loads database for in-service turbine.
David is a user of industry standard wind modelling software WAsP and Windfarmer and is experienced in wake modelling both onshore and offshore. He has been involved in the development of offshore wake models through work with the Carbon Trust research program the Offshore Wind Accelerator.
